Volunteers

Book Trust relies on an army of volunteers to implement and administer our programs. Volunteers also play an essential role in raising funds and community support. We are deeply grateful to our volunteers for their time and energy!

Our volunteers come from many professions and associations—individual teachers, Reading Recovery teachers (in Colorado and Silicon Valley), librarians, administrators, Rotarians, community members… In many cases, volunteers serve as the liaison between Book Trust and the schools we serve, providing teacher trainings, ordering support, classroom observations and much more. In other cases they step forth to organize community support, raising awareness and funds for local programs.

Teachers in participating classrooms also volunteer a certain amount of time each month—passing out catalogs, helping children select books if a parent or guardian is unable, processing orders, and reporting their expenditures to Book Trust.
