“Ms. Norma, can you help me find books for girls? Something science, but NO pink stuff, no princesses.”

That’s what one of Norma’s second grade students said to her as she was flipping through the Book Trust flyer. When Norma asked why, her student replied, “I want to be President of the United States!”

This student isn’t just dreaming, she’s searching for stories to help her believe it’s possible.

When children are given access to books that reflect their interests, their imaginations expand, their dreams grow, and their worlds change.

But the truth is, there are so many students across the country who don’t have access to books at home or books they’re actually interested in.
