Book Trust is thrilled to invite all school partners across the country to participate in a Read Together Hero Moment as part of Book Celebrations between February 17-28!
As a bonus addition to partner schools’ February book orders, Book Trust students in grades 2-5 will receive their own copy of Dog Man: Big Jim Begins—exclusively donated by the author of the #1 blockbuster hit series Dog Man, Dav Pilkey.
Inspired by one of the themes in the Dog Man series about ordinary people doing extraordinarily good deeds, Book Trust schools are spotlighting everyday community heroes. Heroism can appear in many ways, including giving someone else the gift of your time to read together!
Classrooms can participate by:
- Inviting guest readers! These could be everyday heroes at school or in the local community, including crossing guards, parents/caregivers, librarians, medical professionals, etc.
- Dedicating time for buddy reading within or across grades! Students can read their new Dog Man book, one of their February Book Trust books, or a title in the classroom library. It’s their choice!
