Book Trust Program Resources 2024-25

Welcome Book Trust Managers and Teachers!

The magic of the Book Trust program takes place in the classroom. Each year, thousands of teachers and support team members facilitate book selection, ordering, and distribution in service of the Book Trust program.

The personal libraries curated by students are possible because of dedicated professionals like you!

KEYS TO PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION

ORDER WINDOWS

Students will have six opportunities to order this school year. The order windows are September, October, November, February, March, and April

STIPENDS

For each of the six order windows, students will utilize $12 stipends. The stipend must be used by the end of each order window. Stipends do not transfer or roll over.

FLYERS

Digital flyers made specifically for Book Trust students will be available on the Book Trust website and in the monthly Book Trust Bulletin email. These are designed with students in mind and prices have been rounded to the nearest dollar to make choosing books easier.

ORDERS

Book Trust teachers place orders through Scholastic Book Clubs. All Book Trust orders must be placed on the Student Flyer Order tab.

BOOK BOXES

Scholastic ships books to schools. Book Trust teachers coordinate celebrations to distribute the books to students and dedicate time to book exploration and reading in the classroom.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When are the book order windows?

The order windows are September, October, November, February, March, and April.

How does the book payment process work?

Book Trust issues payments to Scholastic after the close of each order window. For example, the September order window will be paid in early October. Your teachers’ Scholastic accounts may show a balance for recent orders before the Book Trust payment is applied around the 15th of the following month.

Your teachers may also see a balance on your account if students spent more than $12 each. As a reminder, Book Trust is not responsible for student amounts above the $12 stipend.

What support is available for Book Trust Managers and Teachers?

Each school’s Book Trust Manager is the go-to support contact. Book Trust’s website is a one-stop shop for resources and best practices designed to support program implementation. Keep an eye on your inbox for monthly communications from Book Trust throughout the school year. If you need anything, reach out to Book Trust via email at support@booktrust.org.

What is over-stipend spending?

Students may spend up to $12 on books during each of the six order windows. Book Trust covers these costs by paying Scholastic directly. If orders exceed the student stipend, the account holder will be charged for the overage. The stipend does not transfer between students or order windows. Please ensure book orders do not exceed $12 in each student order.

What happens if I spend more than the stipend and end up with a balance?

Book Trust issues payments to Scholastic based on $12 per student, per order window. If teachers end up with a balance at the end of an order window, they are personally responsible for paying the balance with Scholastic. In the past, some schools have provided support of their budgets to defray costs of the overages for teachers, but that is not a requirement of participating in the Book Trust program.
