An Exciting Leadership Update
We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Patience Peabody as the President & CEO of Book Trust!
Patience brings two decades of experience in nonprofits, philanthropy, and the public sector, most recently serving as the Executive Director at the Flamboyan Foundation.
Patience shared these powerful words in reflection of her appointment:
“As the incoming President and CEO of Book Trust, I am deeply committed to leading this organization toward a future where every mind is ignited by the power of reading. As a lifelong advocate of equitable access to opportunity for the most marginalized among us, I am proud to take up this mantle and lead this talented team through its next phase of impact and growth. Together, we will build on Book Trust’s 21-year legacy to open the doors of opportunity through expanded culturally relevant book access, inspiring a love of reading, and promoting a culture of literacy for kids and families in communities across the country.”
We are delighted to welcome Patience to Book Trust and look forward to her starting on January 16.
Interim CEO Stacey Kirkland will be working closely with Patience to ensure a seamless transition before returning to her role as Chair of our National Board.
