Book Trust brings roughly 700,000 books to students annually. That’s thousands of supported classroom teachers, thousands of curated personal libraries, and countless joyful reading experiences!

Apply to Become a Book Trust School or Renew Your Current Partnership

  • Complete the Application Request

    Schools that are not partnering with Book Trust this school year must complete the Application Request to receive an Application for the 2025-2026 program year. (Applications for the 2024-2025 school year are closed.)

  • Complete the Application in Early 2025

    After submitting the Application Request, schools new to Book Trust will receive an Application in early 2025. The deadline to complete the Application will be communicated in late 2024.

  • Admissions Decisions

    Book Trust will email Admissions Decisions to schools in early spring 2025.

  • Complete the Application

    Are you a school partner in the 2024-2025 school year? Skip the Application Request and complete the 10-minute Application you receive via email.

2024-25 School Year Application Timeline

Application Opens

For Current Book Trust Schools (2023-2024 School Year): 

Principals will receive the link to the Application via email when the Application goes live on March 18, 2024. All current Book Trust Schools must apply to be considered for the 2024-2025 school year. 

For Schools Interested in Joining Book Trust in 2024-2025: 

Schools not in the program during the 2023-2024 school year must complete the Interest Form to receive an Application for consideration in the 2024-2025 school year. Schools who previously submitted the Interest Form do not need to resubmit. 
 
The final day to complete the Interest Form is April 10, 2024.

Application Closes

All schools, including current Book Trust schools, must submit the Application by April 12, 2024 to be considered for the 2024-2025 school year.

Application Review

A member of the Book Trust team will contact you should we have questions about your Application. Each Application will be reviewed to determine alignment with Book Trust’s Eligibility Requirements including ability to pay the Program Fee (as applicable).

Admissions Decisions

Every school that applies will receive an email notifying them of their school’s Application status. For those schools who receive an offer, they may also receive information about any Program Fees they are responsible for to secure their spot in the 2024-2025 program.

For Schools Who Receive an Offer


Schools who are provided an opportunity to partner with Book Trust during the 2024-2025 school year must secure their spot by:

  1. Completing the Admissions Survey in early May 2024.
  2. Submitting payment for their designated Program Fee (when applicable).

Payment must be received no later than August 16, 2024.

Invoicing
For Schools Who Receive an Offer

Following submission of the Admissions Survey, schools will receive a quote and invoice for their Program Fee in late May 2024. Payment (when applicable) must be received no later than August 16, 2024 to secure a place in the 2024-2025 school year.

Onboarding Begins

Once payment is received, the Book Trust team will provide access to a required online onboarding program to kick start the school year. Onboarding will be available starting the last two weeks in August.

Schools who have not yet paid their Program Fee invoice are not eligible to begin the onboarding process.

After August 23, 2023

Place Your First Book Order!

When training is complete, teachers may begin facilitating Student and placing orders in September for their first shipment of books.

Eligibility Requirements for 2024-25

Note: Check back for the 2025-26 eligibility requirements.

To be considered for the 2024-2025 school year, schools must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  1. School will be Title 1 during the 2024-2025 school year
  2. School serves Pre-K through Grade 5 students
  3. Payment of the 2024-2025 Program Fee by August 16, 2024 (as applicable)

Schools partnering with Book Trust during the 2023-2024 school year who do not meet all eligibility requirements may still qualify to participate in the program during the 2024-2025 school year.

All schools, including those partnering with Book Trust in 2023-2024, are expected to complete an Application and fulfill the requirements outlined in the Application process.

Securing Your School’s Offer

Schools that receive an offer to partner with Book Trust during the 2024-2025 school year must secure their spot by:

  1. Completing the Admissions Survey in early spring 2025.
  2. Submitting payment for their designated Program Fee (as applicable) by August 16, 2024.
Program Fees

In the 2024-2025 school year, most schools will pay a Program Fee as per the fee structure below. In some cases, an outside donor may cover the Program Fee, and if so, it will be waived. Schools will receive an email with this information by early May 2024 when schools are informed about their application status. For more details on Program Fees please review our FAQ.

Application Tips

Note: Check back for 2025-26 Application tips.

It will take fewer than 10 minutes to complete the Application. Please have this information available before completing the Application:  

  1. School and Principal Contact Information for the 2024-2025 school year 
  2. Estimated Enrollment for each grade within your school (Pre-K to Grade 5) for 2024-2025  
  3. Whether or not there is budget available to support a Program Fee, if applicable  

The Application will become available on March 18, 2024. Applications will not be accepted after April 12, 2024. All schools, including those partnering with Book Trust in 2023-2024, are expected to complete the Application to be considered for the 2024-2025 school year.  

New Schools and Schools Not Partnered with Book Trust in the 2024-2025 School Year 

Schools that are not 2024-2025 Book Trust partners must complete the Application Request to receive an Application. Schools that previously submitted the Application Request do not need to resubmit. 

Applications will be emailed to the contact information provided on the Application Request in early spring 2025. 

2024-2025 School Partners 

If your school partners with Book Trust during the 2024-2025 school year, the Application will be emailed to your school’s principal in early spring 2025. If your principal has changed since September 2024, please reach out to support@booktrust.org to update that contact information.

FAQ

Do I need to complete the Application if my school is in the 2024-2025 Book Trust program?
Yes. All schools that wish to participate in the 2025-2026 Book Trust program must submit an Application.

I’m a district administrator and would like all my schools to participate in the 2025-2026 Book Trust Program! Are there different requirements for us?
There are not different requirements for districts. We do, however, recommend district administrators who are new to Book Trust reach out directly to support@booktrust.org to receive more details on the process and how best to complete the Application for multiple schools.

I represent a school that is partnering with Book Trust this school year (2023-2024) and we didn’t have a Program Fee. Should I expect a Program Fee in 2024-2025?
Book Trust is actively working with funding partners to support the 2024-2025 Book Trust program. All Program Fees will be confirmed in May 2024 when schools receive Admissions Decisions via email.

What are acceptable forms of payment for the Program Fee?
Schools invoiced for a Program Fee must submit payment, so it’s received by August 16, 2024. Payment can be made by check or electronically. Details on how to send payments will be made available in May 2024 when offers are sent to schools via email.

How can I check the status of my application?
Once schools have submitted the Application, they will receive a submission confirmation via email. If you did not receive an email confirmation, please contact Book Trust Support at support@booktrust.org.

When will I find out about Admissions Decisions for the 2024-2025 Book Trust program?
All Program Fees will be confirmed in May 2024 when schools receive Admissions Decisions via email. An offer is contingent on a school’s ability to complete the required steps to secure their spot including completing the Admissions Survey in May 2024, and submitting Program Fees (when applicable) for receipt by August 16, 2024.

How are decisions made about which schools will receive offers to partner with Book Trust in the 2024-2025 school year?
During the 2024-2025 school year, Book Trust is eager to support schools invested in serving all students in Pre-K through Grade 5.

Is it possible to include students above Grade 5?
During the 2024-2025 school year, our program serves Pre-K through Grade 5 students. If your school serves students beyond Grade 5, please complete the Application with as much detail about your student population as possible, and then contact our Support Team at support@booktrust.org to discuss your unique situation. 

Who should submit the Application?
The person responsible for budget approval and staff oversight at your school should submit the Application. This is likely the school principal or another administrator.
